It has been an amazing year photographing weddings. This year was quite a whirlwind and very different from past years. From cancellations, restrictions, and other inconvenient situations, somehow we all got through it and I think that calls for a celebration in and of itself! Despite it all, I was able to capture some amazing love stories. I wanted to showcase this special time in these couples lives after a hard year with my 2020 wedding highlights.

One of the many things I do before the couple begins getting ready is photograph the detail in the small things. Small things that make up a big part of their day. The dress, the shoes, the floral arrangements, the jewelry, and the rings. This part is always so special. They are typically the sentimental pieces of a couples’ big day.

What is sentimental about my 2020 wedding highlights?

My heart was with all of the couples I photographed this year. My couples had obstacles to hurdle over, cancellation after cancellation, timelines pushed back, and there was a lot of pressure and stress in the planning. There was so much unknown for the people who planned for a 2020 wedding. They conquered so much this year and I want to share pieces of their day to show them all they’ve accomplished.

Some couples couldn’t book a new venue with the cancellations and short timespan to do so. Many wanted to keep their 2020 wedding, so they opted for backyard weddings, or a locations that was offered by a family member.

To my 2020 weddings – you should be proud! Thank you for trusting in me to be a part of this special moment in your lives. Your weddings were stunning and the beauty is shown through these photos. I have a feeling 2021 will be an incredible year!
