Max and Amelia’s wedding was a moody, spring dream to remember!
Right off the bat, it was clear how well they complemented each other – Max, so confident and level-headed, and Amelia, so fun, caring, and a true light to her loving family. Their excitement and positivity never wavered, even when the rainy weather changed some of their plans.
Amelia was a total knockout in her plunging lace, nude gown and face-framing up-do. I remember thinking that it was one of my most favorite up-dos I had ever seen! Everything about her makeup emphasized her features and natural beauty so, so well – a vision of natural elegance. Her bridesmaids, in their dusty purple dresses, were like gorgeous spring flowers blooming after a storm.
We were battling some April showers that day, but it only added to the moody, spring vibe. When we were forced to move inside, the Ivy House’s interior did NOT disappoint! It had such a unique, old-world charm, you almost forgot what era you were in. With ivy as lush as a forest on the brick walls, original wood floors, and vintage decor throughout, it was truly an idyllic venue. There were so many stunning photo opportunities inside that we didn’t even mind missing those typical outdoor shots.
On top of that, I couldn’t have asked for a more amazing and helpful staff at the Ivy House. I have shot there before, and it has always been an incredible experience. They happily accommodated all of my out-of-the-box ideas – like hanging Amelia’s wedding dress from the rafters – and allowed me to capture some stunning photos. I sincerely hope I have the opportunity to shoot here again someday!
The ceremony was gorgeous, simple, and sweet. Candles lit the aisle like an elegant, moody dream. Max had the biggest smile on his face as Amelia turned the corner with her father and started down the aisle. She was an absolute vision in that dress!
Their vows were sentimental and truly from the heart. After their vows, they performed a candy unity with Max’s daughter, Aubrey, which made their marriage bond so much more special. Through all of my years of shooting weddings, I will never get tired of watching couples start their lives together!
The reception was a celebration of love and happiness. Everyone absolutely raved about how flavorful the meal was and I couldn’t agree more. My favorite part, though, was their Culver’s custard dessert. It was so perfectly Wisconsin and made for a super fun photoshoot!
Love radiated around them as they had their first dance, set to classic Shania Twain. The night ended with a glow stick conga line that had everyone laughing and cheering for the couple. It was a celebration through and through!
